Technology & Social Media Assistant

Mario Portillo (he/him) serves as the Technology Assistant for the Learning Collaborative Institute including managing and optimizing the Institute's social media presence through strategic content creation, collaborating on website enhancements, and ensuring a seamless user experience and alignment with our brand messaging.

Mario is a second-year undergraduate at Stanford University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a focus on biological computation. His academic interests span mathematics, programming, and biology, which fuel his passion for exploring data-driven approaches, making LCI’s mission particularly inspiring. Mario believes the most inspiring part of his role is the opportunity to amplify the incredible work being done at LCI through our online platforms, ensuring that our impact is recognized and celebrated.

Mario aims to make a lasting contribution to underrepresented communities by leveraging his work to uplift others. Having grown up in an underserved area, he is passionate about paying it forward, creating pathways for those who face similar educational and economic challenges, just as LCI strives to bridge these gaps.

Away from work, Mario is passionate about sports and plays for the Men’s Club Volleyball team at Stanford, where he is able to combine his love for athletics with teamwork and discipline.
